The NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV) and NYS Council on Developmental Disabilities (CDD) invite parents and families to join a conversation about increasing access to domestic and sexual violence services for survivors with developmental disabilities.

Opengate individuals showcased their beautiful and creative work in our art show! All of the individuals who reside in our Somers homes and attend our onsite day program participated. Individuals and Opengate staff attended the special afternoon.

We congratulate Denis Bonsu, GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award winner. The individuals who live at the Frankel residence adore Denis and look forward to seeing him. He engages in meaningful activities and conversations with the individuals he supports on a daily basis.

We are thrilled to welcome the new CEO of Opengate, Christopher Laubis! We also honor the fantastic contributions of outgoing Opengate CEO and Advisor Brian Hulten during his 42 years of service at Opengate, starting as a direct support professional and eventually leading the organization as CEO.

Opengate recognizes National Disability Employment Awareness Month during October, and every day, through our commitment to helping the individuals we serve access meaningful, fulfilling employment. With our Supported Employment Program, we create opportunities that make a difference.

The individuals of Opengate enjoyed a fabulous Tea Party! The annual tradition includes delicious pastries, delightful decorations, and dressing up in their finest. The weather was perfect for this year’s celebration, which the individuals helped plan and set up.

Congratulations to Yanique Harvin, winner of Opengate’s 2023 Employee Scholarship Award! She plans to put the scholarship towards earning her master’s degree in psychology and hopes to become the director of her own program someday.
