We are delighted to announce Shawna Copeland as our latest GEM Award recipient! Shawna is a shining example of what it means to go the extra mile. Always prepared to lend a helping hand, she embodies a team spirit with a positive attitude and a considerate approach towards others. Not only does Shawna excel in her role as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), but she also steps beyond her responsibilities to assist with tasks outside her job description.

Hydration Challenge in August

As part of our ongoing commitment to wellness, Opengate employees are gearing up for the Wellness Hydration Challenge, tentatively scheduled for the end of August. Staying hydrated is key to maintaining good health, and we look forward to making hydration a fun and engaging part of our daily routine!

Summer Activities

Summer Harvest from Our Garden

Our garden has been thriving this summer! We’ve been growing yellow squash, string beans, callaloo, and mint, all of which have been a big hit with our residents. Not only do they enjoy the process of growing these plants, but they also love incorporating them into their meals. It's been a fulfilling and healthy addition to our daily lives.

Resident Art Show

Our residents have been hard at work on their art projects since July, and we’re excited to showcase their creativity at our upcoming Art Show at the end of August. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the artistic talents of our individuals.
