Opengate recognizes the exceptional commitment of its team through the GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award. Each month, Opengate team members vote to select an employee who shows outstanding dedication, work ethic, and initiative in their life-changing work advancing our mission. The award includes a monetary prize.

We congratulate Gabriela Loja Carpio, our latest GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award winner! Gabriela makes meaningful contributions to the daily activities at Opengate, both in the Day Program and residences. Unfailingly patient, calm, and positive in her approach, she takes the time to get to know the individuals. She works well with some of the individuals most in need of support, helping to make their day better and more relaxed.

When we see individuals come into the gym, smiling and laughing as they interact with Gabriela, it shows the difference she makes in their daily lives.
