First Steps for Services

OPWDD Front Door

The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) is responsible for coordinating services for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Prader-Willi syndrome, and other neurological impairments. To access services, you’ll need to contact your regional Front Door office.

The Opengate team can answer questions and support you in navigating the process of accessing services. Please feel free to email our intake coordinator, Michelle McCalister, for information about Opengate’s services and vacancies. If you would like to request Opengate as your service provider, you can mention this to your care coordinator or Front Door representative during the first phase of the Front Door process.
