Each year Opengate, Inc. calls upon our faithful donors who have committed to funding the programs and services created to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Many have been standing at our side as we’ve succeeded to become a leader in the field of residential and day habilitation services.
Not only do we mail an annual print letter with donation return envelopes included, but we also have a secure way to donate online if that method is preferred, and also allows those outside the scope of our regular donors to become part of our mission.
Our appreciation for each of our donors cannot be measured. Contributors are the lifeblood of Opengate.
Dear Opengate Supporter & Friend,
Lida dances joyously. Marc carefully sets the table for lunch. Tricia masters writing her name. These are just some of the individual victories we see each day in spite of losses in State funding, endless paperwork and reporting, surprise onsite reviews and never-ending challenges to which we adapt. For this, I applaud our parents, supporters and staff who truly are the marvels in the making and re-making of our agency. Together, we always find solutions.
This year, I am not going to outline a list of achievements because we see the agency’s triumphs every day. Just visit our ongoing blog at https://opengateinc.org/blog/ and you will see the very fast pace at which we are moving forward. Instead, I choose to congratulate all of our stakeholders for adjusting to the many changes that include limiting the number of residents per neighborhood home to four, a pivotal conversion by New York State. As you well know, it is not easy for those in our care to accept change.
We continue to explore partnerships that make sense, particularly in the area of employment for our individuals so they are no longer in sheltered environments. We strive to personalize each plan of care so all can reach their fullest potential.
As always this time of year, we enclose a donation envelope for your use. Any donation in any amount is welcomed as we look towards 2016 as one of our most challenging years yet. Other personalized giving opportunities may be found at www.opengateinc.org.
It is always with my deepest gratitude that I wish you a happy and healthy New Year.
